Han Joong Kwan: Authentic Korean Comfort Food in Ellicott City

The best spot for jajangmyun and jjampong! I've been going to this place for at least 20 years now, and they do not disappoint. The service is quick and efficient, I am always able to get refills and my food comes out speedy quick. All of the food is very flavorful and always hits the spot when I am craving Korean Chinese food. I also really like the sweet and sour pork and the lollipopped chicken, you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu, I would highly recommend coming here.

We got menu item 78, noodles seafood and black bean sauce. If you squid get this. It was more squid then I personally care for. We also got #3 and the soup was good. I gotta say I am curious about the private dining experience. Staff was very nice and prompt with the order. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and will probab return for black bean sauce noodle

What’s wrong with your tap water? It tastes weird. Kanpoong chicken is amazingly tasty (sour and sweet). Stir fried jjambon on plate was super great. Zhajiang is good. Jjambong soup is okay but tastes weak. Overall, they provide great service.

Possibly the best uni jajanmyeon I had in a while. Currently living in Yeoido Korea yet it was great. Better than a whole lot of Korean Chinese in Seoul and LA. Their sweet and sour pork made with rice powder is also so good. Never had sweet and sour pork this crispy. Seafood Jjampong is also good but it was not the best, it had too much veggies and not enough seafood. It had the inexpensive squid, mussels and shrimp. Didnt feel all that special. Noodles for both jjampong and jajjangmyeon was not hand made noodles but it’s rare to find hand made so I’m fine with it. Can’t write about other items on the menu but jajangmyoen and sweet and sour pork (rice powder) was the best.

The staff is very friendly and everything was clean. I enjoyed the spicy seafood soup/jjampong which was very hearty. My room mates got the half and half and the pork cutlet which they said were great. We shared the chicken wings that were crispy and sweet in all the right places. I’m glad we found this gem in Ellicott city as an alternative to daraewon in silver spring. I can’t wait to try out more of the menu in the future

Delicious Korean Chinese options. Stopped by on a Saturday night and this place was packed. My friend and I ordered JA JA myun, fried chicken appetizer and the spicy pork marinated soup. Everything was delicious and seasoned well. No banchan served here

Korean chinese restaurant that was very authentic. Tried the ja jang myun (#66) and sam sun jam bong (#70). They were great. Also tried the sweet and sour fried pork- this was the best! The decor of the restaurant was amazing and the staff were very polite. There is plenty of seating available, but can reserve beforehand.

Absolutely loved this place! Everything tasted super fresh, with generous ingredients and great flavor in every bite. The serving ladies were very attentive, friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I didn’t take good pictures as my gang started to eat before I could take a few snaps… Definitely a spot I’d be happy to come back to and recommend to others.
